Iron and Steel Metallurgy

The metallurgical equipment is diverse, encompassing not only equipment required for raw material plants but also machinery for processes from upstream to downstream, such as steelmaking, rolling, and tempering. These devices are equipped with various bearings. These bearings are used under conditions specific to metallurgical equipment involving "iron powder," "water," and "heat," and must satisfy usage criteria such as "heavy load + vibration shock" and "ultra-low to high speed + rapid acceleration/deceleration," operating within their unique and extremely harsh working environments.

The steelmaking process is extremely rigorous. Equipment needs to operate in environments with temperatures up to 3000°C, loads of 3,000 tons, extremely slow oscillation, peak loads, and vibration. Every day, they face high temperatures, large amounts of cooling water, and high impact forces, while also bearing the pressure of increasing production demands and the challenge of maintaining or even improving finished product quality. Simultaneously, operators are under pressure to reduce unit costs, improve product quality, and lower environmental impact. These challenges are severe for an industry where reliable daily safe production is already difficult. Temperature and speed limits, sustained high impact loads, abrasive dust, corrosive chemicals, and high humidity are the extreme conditions faced by plants in the metallurgical industry. It is certain that these are challenges rarely seen in other industries. These conditions cause equipment aging and unplanned downtime, making effective maintenance difficult even under the best circumstances. Increasingly strict environmental and health and safety regulations are also making environmental protection and employee safety top priorities.

Facing the pressure to increase output and improve steel quality, equipment must meet the requirements of enhancing dimensional accuracy, improving surface quality, upgrading steel grades, and increasing production speed. At the same time, it must overcome the daily challenges of high precision, high loads, high speeds, and corrosive coolants. The goals are to reduce unplanned downtime and production interruptions, lower labor and spare parts costs, extend repair and maintenance intervals, and eliminate manual lubrication at lubrication points in harsh working areas to reduce risks and accidents.
