Cylindrical rollers are in line contact with the raceways, providing high radial load capacity. They are suitable for heavy loads, shock loads, and high-speed rotation. The raceways and rolling elements of cylindrical roller bearings feature optimized geometric profiles. Through improved design, they offer higher load-carrying capacity. The new structural design of the ribs and roller end faces not only enhances the bearing's axial load capacity but also improves lubrication conditions in the contact area between the roller end faces and the ribs, thereby increasing overall performance. Below is an analysis of its five major advantages:

1. The rollers and raceways are in line contact or modified line contact, offering high radial load capacity suitable for heavy and shock loads.
2. The friction coefficient is low, making them suitable for high speeds; the limiting speed of precision bearings is close to that of deep groove ball bearings.
3. Types N and NU allow axial displacement, accommodating changes in the relative positions of the shaft and housing caused by thermal expansion or mounting errors, and can be used as floating end supports.
4. High machining requirements are placed on the shaft or housing bore. The relative skew of the outer ring axis after installation must be strictly controlled to avoid contact stress concentration.
5. The inner or outer ring is separable, facilitating easy mounting and dismounting. Cylindrical roller bearings are widely used in medium and large electric motors, rolling stock, machine tool spindles, internal combustion engines, generators, gas turbines, gearboxes, rolling mills, vibrating screens, and hoisting and conveying machinery.
Cylindrical roller bearings are categorized into single-row, double-row, and multi-row structures based on the number of rolling element rows. Different structures also feature variations in rib positioning. Common types of cylindrical roller bearings include the following:
Single-row Cylindrical Roller Bearings: Single-row cylindrical roller bearings are separable, facilitating mounting and dismounting. Both rings can adopt an interference fit. The modified contact lines between the rollers and raceways help reduce stress concentration.
